Teams

#6: Gravitas Gaming

Gravitas, formerly known as the Zomblerz, +}, has come a long way since their inception.  A team that has truly risen the ranks in e-sports, McKay, Neer and Holt have brought this organization from the alleys of CAL-O to the stardom of CEVO-P.  Last season, the zombler crew made several splashes in the large ocean of professional e-sports, taking the first of many steps towards being a truly professional team.  This season, with the addition of Gunaratne and Branagan have finally reached the CEVO-P playoffs and look to be the underdogs.  With enough practice and patience, Gravitas has the potential to rise to the top.  Look for Neer’s awp to play a crucial rule in Gravitas’s success.

Roster:
Eric “brawwr” Neer
Carson “classified” Holt
Cory “badapples” Branagan
Andres “misty” Gunaratne
Justin “heatwave” Mckay

#5: Carolina Core

The Core, one of the three signed CGS teams in this event have done better than most expected.  Being one of the more controversial CGS teams, the Carolina Core look to prove the doubters wrong.  With wins over the San Francisco Optx, 3D New York and Team Pandemic, they’ve proven they have the practice and skill to get the job done.  With a solid Counter-Strike 1.6 professional background, the team has the experience and skill in high-pressure environments to upset the talented LA Complexity crew, pending a stellar performance from Core’s Sam Chamma.

Roster:
Mark “masternook” Torrez
Chad “daffsta” White
Adam “elusive” Messner
Sam “devour” Chamma
Sonny “s0nNy” Tran

#4: The Last Resort

Coming in at fourth seed is an impressive TLR team.  To many people’s surprise, The Last Resort had a phenomenal showing during the season, securing a solid 6-5 record along with the fourth seed in playoffs.  With triumph also comes downfall as DePaul, one of the team’s top fraggers was whisked away on the XFX bus leaving TLR a giant hole to fill.  Although the team had a very solid performance during the season, roster instability and lack of sufficient practice will leave TLR with doubts about their future.

UPDATE: TLR Will be using Jame^s as a fill-in for deppy.  Due to deppy being obligated to participate in their events, Jame^s will be replacing him during the event.

Roster:
Samuel “chewbacca” Tesh
Chris “collisioN” Swanson
Quin “AMBUSHT” Little
Jon “hauNt” Wilson
James “Jame^s” O`Connor

#3: Team Pandemic

Easily one of the most powerful teams in Source, Team Pandemic is entering the Nationvoice $10,000 Source Championships at a respectable third seed.  With a roster that dates back to the early days of Verge, Pandemic has the roster stability and make-up to get the job done.  Serving the LA Complexity their only loss of the season, Pandemic is definitely looking for the upset.  With the addition of Cummings and Hall to the original Verge roster, Pandemic has the tools needed to take the event home.  Stellar play from Nowakowski will be key to Pandemic’s success.

Roster:
Nick “nickn0it” Nowakowski
Jon “juan” Mumm
Kyle “Mustang” Cummings
Mike “paradox” Stanowski
Grant “Griff” Hall

#2: Dallas Venom

The Dallas Venom, the 2nd of 3 CGS teams, are entering playoffs with an extremely impressive record of 9-2, only losing to the powerhouse LA Complexity along with Gravitas. They finished the season in extremely convincing fashion, wiping the floor against San Francisco Optx and Eximius sports in bouts of 12-6 and 15-3 respectively.  With strong team roots in Counter-Strike 1.6, the Venom have the experience to pull away from the rest of the pack.  Expect the Venom to win a majority of the clutch situations throughout the CEVO-Professional playoffs.

Roster:
David “zid” Chin
Derek “exodus” Heidinger
Kevin “aZn” Wang
Josh “Dominator” Sievers
Corey “hanes” hanes

#1: LA Complexity

The Los Angeles Complexity are coming into playoffs as the clear #1 seed with an stellar 10-1 performance during the season.  Their only scar is from Team Pandemic’s 12-6 upset during the last match of the season, bringing Complexity into playoffs as the clear favorites to take home another Championship.  Complexity has been running the field with dominate performances at E4All, Newegg LANFest, and during the CGS with the help of Kim’s superior in-game leadership coupled with Frod’s solid AWP.  Complexity can seem to be the complete package which also puts them on the front line for an upset.  Who will be able to do it?

Roster:
Matt “Warden” Dickens
Danny “fRoD” Montaner
Tyler “Storm” Wood
Ron “Rambo” Kim
Marcus “zet” Sundstrom
