Counter-Strike 1.6 Prediction Contest
September 25th, 2008 by CEVO|BassThe Counter-Strike 1.6 Professional Playoffs begin this Saturday. CEVO will be running many promotions this weekend where you will have a chance at 1 of many Sapphire HD 4850 Graphics Cards. This will be your first chance to enter for one of those graphics cards. The contest is simple: Predict your upper bracket with scores and predict your final match up with final score and winner in the comments of this article. The person who has the most accurate prediction will win. If there is a tie or multiple ties the final score of the final match will be the first tie breaker and if there is still a tie we will go and look back one match at a time for the most accurate score until a winner is determined.
* Note if your post is edited after the start of the playoffs on Saturday you will automatically be disqualified.
This post will also serve as the area for ALL contest submissions that require a post. Tune into the QuadV cast all weekend long to listen for your chance to win one of the 15 video cards we will be giving away.

It appears that the wrong promotion was played on this MATCH 3. We are going to run a different one at halftime as it looks like they played the Match 2 promo again. Sorry for the confusion. Stay tuned to win in a few minutes.

Introducing the ATI FirePro™ V8700 workstations graphics accelerator from AMD. This ultra high-end workstation solution with 1GB frame buffer memory comes with industry highest number of shader engines (800) and GDDR5 memory technology. V8700 workstation graphics accelerator to features two DisplayPort outputs and one Dual-Link DVI-I output. With a full 30-bit display pipeline, the ATI FirePro V8700 is ideally suited for applications that benefit from massive compute power, big frame buffer for complex and big data sets, and 30-bit display pipeline for accurate color reproduction and superior visual quality.

ATI PowerPlay™ power management technology enables the GPU to automatically adjust between low, medium and high states for efficiency and performance-on-demand. For example, when emailing there is less demand on the GPU and it runs in a low state and when gaming it runs in high state to provide the additional power needed to play demanding titles. ATI PowerPlay does not require both an integrated graphics processor and a discrete graphics processor in order to operate.

Delivering higher performance to the enthusiast for only a small price premium over the standard model, the SAPPHIRE HD 4850 TOXIC Edition has been designed by SAPPHIRE to run significantly faster – shipping with core clock speeds of 675MHz and fitted with 512MB of high speed memory operating at 1100MHz. It also features a Zalman heapipe fan, providing more efficient cooling, quieter operation and more headroom for performance tuning.

RONWANG is technically the winner for the question of “What is the core clock of the Sapphire HD 4870 TOXIC?” and not Devin.
The correct “Core Clock Speed” specification of the specific Sapphire HD 4870 TOXIC (emphasis on TOXIC as said in the question by Dunn’s recording) can be found on the frontpage of the SapphireTech.com website in a document file towards the bottom: http://www.sapphiretech.com/en/pressfiles/97_reg1.doc
It states, “Clock Speed 780MHz Eclk / 1000MHz Mclk (4.0 Gbps)” and something that I’ve noticed when verifying the question for my own personal means. I understand that there is to be only 1 videocard awarded to 1 individual person, I’m just clarifying this issue.
September 28th, 2008 at 6:22 pm
The regular edition of the Sapphire HD 4870 videocard core clock is different from that of the TOXIC model with the different cooling system: http://www.sapphiretech.com/us/products/products_overview.php?gpid=245&grp=3
The core clock from this, “Core Clock: 750 MHz”, is incorrect as Dunn asked for the aforementioned specification from the TOXIC model and not the regular model of the HD 4870.

CEVO and QuadV are running a great show and promotion! The broadcast by Dunn and shaGuar is looking great with Jason Bass handling all the promotions fairly.
Didn’t mean to sound smarty, just clarifying something that I’ve noticed on my own :D.
September 28th, 2008 at 6:33 pm
Unfortunately there was an error in the promo. They were SUPPOSED to do the non-toxic version but they did say Toxic. With that in mind RONWANG won and should send me the email at jbass@cevo.com.
