Playoff Interview Series: Dallas Venom
July 22nd, 2008 by CEVO|BassCEVO’s Playoff Interview Series is a short question and answer session with each of the Counter-Strike Source Professional playoff teams. Bobby “Weenus” Hicks had a chance to ask a few questions of Dallas Venom
How much have you been able to focus on the CEVO play with you making it to the CGS World Final?
Preparing for the world final has taken up the majority of our time. However, practicing on LAN for the world finals, and the regular season for that matter, has been paramount to the cs teams success. The LAN environment has allowed us to increase communication, while playing the same teams has forces us to diversify our strategies, both of which will help us in the Cevo playoffs.
Your results took a significant dive in the later portion of the season, what changed?
For the first portion of the season, the guys were able to play from their own home on fast Internet connections. Once they got to the apartments, the Internet was much slower. It was significantly faster from last season and was great for our website needs, however they received heavy amounts of loss while playing online. I don’t think those later online results will be reflected in our playoff performance.
Do you think the other CGS teams should have made the effort to play in CEVO this season?
It’s not my place to say what teams should decide to do. In their defense, the Internet at the apartment last year was realistically unplayable. This year, it was significantly better. We felt we had an obligation as the defending cevo champions to figure out a way to play the season.
What two teams do you see in the finals?
At the risk of sounding arrogant, I would first and foremost say I see the Venom making it to the cevo finals. The second team I predict making it would be Zomblerz, after all, they have Ryan Pham!
Will you be playing in the next season of CEVO?
At this point we absolutely plan on playing in cevo next season, as we have for many consecutive seasons prior.

Thanks very much for this article, there’s not much COD4 strategy publically available. Most of the time it comes down to watching a lot of demos/casts to pick up new tricks.
Something similar for Strike would be appreciated. Keep it up!

The Nike Air Max Air Max 360 dropped this weekend at House of Hoops locations in three bright colors: red, yellow and blue. The performance support system found in the upper of the original Air Max Hyperize. NFW models put a lifestyle twist on performance models, and it has been applied to several Nike Basketball shoes including the Air Trainer Huarache . Individual shots of the pack after the jump.

Nike SB dropped the Harris Tweed Dunks, everyone went Nike Trainer Dunk . Regular Nike dropped these for everyone who either wasn’t fast enough (or rich enough) to cop. Not as good as the SBs, but a great alternate if you missed the original. Sometimes a simple Nike Dunk Women takes the cake, and when the design crew had it’s first, “Maybe these are getting a little too nuts,” moment, the “Curry” pack dropped. Soon enough they were back on the crazy tip, but not before this little “Wear-it-to-your-girlfriends-parents-house” pack dropped.

Forty years ago, Don ED hardyblew off a Yale fine-art fellowship to pursue the rogue art of tattoo, a timeless and often taboo tradition that captivated him as a boy in the Orange County beach town of Corona del Mar. By 10 he was drawing cars and eagles on kids’ backs and arms with wet colored pencils and Maybelline eyeliner. After that he begun to design the Ed hardy picture
